Free Sparring:
Equipment:
| A. |
Contestants must wear
foam dipped headgear, handgear, footgear, groin protectors and mouthguards. |

Foot gear must be foam dipped and extend
and cover the toe area |

Handgear must be foam dipped and cover the
knuckle area. |
Matches:
Parents, instructors and
students are encouraged to coach the competitors!!

| A. |
Eliminations: Contestant
scoring the most points during the two-minute match wins.
There will be a 1/2 minute break after the first minute
where a competitor may be coached. This is the only time
that a competitor may receive "assistance" from
the floor.

Grand Champion Rounds: Contestant scoring
the most points during the four (4) minute match wins.
There will be a 1 minute break after two minutes where
a competitor may be coached. This is the only time when
a competitor may receive "assistance" from the
floor. |

If time runs out, contestant
with the highest score wins. |
| |

| C. |
It time runs out and
score is even, the contestant who was given a minus point
loses. |
| |
 |
| D. |
When "A" has
two (2) minus points, but has gained no points to subtract
from, "A" loses the match. |
| |
 |
| E. |
If time runs out and
there is a tie score, a (1) minute match shall commence:
the person with the first point will win or the person
with the first minus point will lose. |

| F. |
If no additional points
are added or subtracted after the (1) minute match, the
judges shall select the winner. |
| |
 |
| G. |
When blood is drawn,
the contestant causing the draw of blood should be disqualified
(unless self-inflicted). |

| H. |
When a contestant is
disqualified, the opponent wins the match. |
| |
 |
| I. |
When a contestant is
unable to continue, due to the fault of their own, the
opponent will win the match. |
| |

| J. |
When one contestant
is disqualified and the other is unable to continue (see "I"),
the match will have no winner. |
Target Areas:

Facial area: light contact
or well controlled "no contact" techniques to
AREAS COVERED BY FOAM PROTECTION ONLY. |

Chest & Stomach
areas: no excessive contact allowed. |

Side of torso: no excessive

Neck area (Knife-hand
attack only): light contact or well-controlled "no

Illegal Target Areas:
Frontal Facial Area, Back
of Head, Throat, Groin, Thigh, Knee, Shin, and Back.
Proper Techniques:
Hand Techniques:
Fist punches (forward and reverse), knife-hand strike, back-fist.
Kicking Techniques:
All major kicking techniques, except knee kicks.
Illegal Techniques:
Floor sweeps and all other techniques not listed as Proper Techniques.
Points:

point shall be awarded to any proper technique executed
effectively to any proper target area. |

Points: |
In
GRAND CHAMPION competitions only, 2 points shall be awarded
to light contact or well controlled “no contact” kicking
techniques to the facial area that is covered by foam protection. |

| Minus
Points: |
A
minus point is an elimination of a point. If time runs
out and there is no point to be eliminated, a point will
be awarded to the opponent instead. A minus point shall
be awarded under the following circumstances:

Any
malicious use of an illegal technique. |
| B. |
Continued
use, after warning, of an illegal technique. |
| C. |
Any
malicious attack to an illegal target area. |
| D. |
Continued
attack, after warning, to an illegal target area. |
| E. |
Faking
an injury. |
| F. |
Intentionally
avoiding fighting. |
| G. |
Continuously
running out of the ring after warning. |
| H. |
A
point will be deducted upon the second warning. |
| I. |
Coaching
during sparring. (This does not apply to spectators
from the stands.) |
| J. |
Intolerable
display of disrespect from competitor, parent,
coach or instructor |

BREAKING
Time Allowance:
| A. |
Each
contestant has two (2) minutes to set up for their breaking
techniques. |
| |
 |
| B. |
Points
will be deducted if a contestant exceeds the two (2) minute
time allotment. |
| |
 |
| C. |
Contestants
should have holders prior to the commencement of the competition. |
Number of Techniques
| A. |
Each
contestant will be allowed to perform a maximum or three
(3) different breaking techniques. |
Successful Completion:
| A. |
Each
contestant will have two (2) opportunities to successfully
complete a breaking technique. |

| B. |
The
second attempt at a break will cause a contestant to lose
points. |
Breaking Materials:

To
promote fair competition, all boards used in Breaking Competitions
MUST be purchased at the tournament. |

Judging:
Each contestant will be
judged on the following:

the break; |

The
level of difficulty of the technique; |

| C. |
The
contestant's preparedness to perform, i.e. set-up/ positioning
holders. |
FORMS
& WEAPONS
Divisions:

A
contestant may only compete in one division. |
Judging:
| A. |
Points
will be deducted when a contestant stops and resumes the
form. |

| B. |
In
all instances where competitors have a tied score, the
tied competitors will be required to perform the same (or
a different) form again. UNDERBELT winners will be determined
by a vote of at least 2 of 3 judges and BLACK BELT winners
will be chosen by a vote of at least 3 of 5 judges. |
