What
Should I Look for in a School?
A good martial arts studio
is never just business. The development of the
individual, both mentally and physically, are the
most important functions of the studio. Kim Studio
was founded in Silver Spring, MD over 40 years
ago by Grand Master Ki Whang Kim. Master Kim's
intention was to teach and make good, well rounded
martial artists, not just money. Today, over 40
years later, our goal still remains to develop
the individual into the best martial artist he
or she can be.
High
Quality Teaching
Instructors are the back bone of a martial arts studio. They must
not only be accomplished and experienced martial artists, but must
also know how to communicate with students. At Kim Studio, you
will find only the most dedicated instructors who have a minimum
of ten years experience with their black belts. To Kim Studio instructors,
martial arts is not just a job, but a way of life.
Team
Spirit
A martial arts studio is a place of learning as an individual and
as part of a group. Cooperation and camaraderie among people from
all walks of life are important in a martial arts studio. Kim Studio
provides a place where students of all ages can cultivate a sense
of community and team spirit with each other and with the instructors.
Integrity
Kim Studio is not a chain or franchise. We don't believe in gimmicks.
Our students get personal attention and are well grounded with
a solid foundation of traditional techniques, some of which have
been developed for over 600 years. We don't promise martial arts
to be either fast or easy. We do promise to make you a martial
artist.
